No Place for Runner Up???

Do u think Charls Darwins "survival of the fittest" still holds true ON 2010????
Do u think our society ignores the runner ups or those who comes/becomes second????

Some questions for you to think:

1)Who is the second richest man in the world?

2)Which country holds the record for being the runner up maximum number of times in Cricket ODI world cup?

3)Which actor won the OSCAR for supporting role this year?

4)Which were the movies nominated for best motion picture category this year?

5)Who was the miss India runner up this year?

6)Who is the 2nd woman of indian origin to go to space?

Its said 'Best times in life are short lived',may be thats true coz nw when the time is getting near to say adieu to Amrita Unviersity-Ettimadai, i know that i had the best time in my life here. Its really worth calling it 'Planet Ettimadai' as the life here cannot be matched with life anywhere else in the world.Lush green mountains surrounding the campus in all the three sides adds to its beauty.Critics may say that this campus is well know for its strict rules and competitive environment but my answer to them is 'No pains No gains'.To be frank i enjoyed a lot here.In short the 2 and half years in amrita changed me completely.I would like to share a few moments in amrita here.

Day of interview

I still remember the day when i came here for the first time for the interview ,where i was welcomed by a interview panel of eight professor's. It was a shock, normally 8 people wont be there even for a job interview...but i like surprises. They asked me to introduce myself and asked very simple questions in physics(which was my UG major),they were just checking the confidence level of the candidate. After the interview i was confident that i will get it,but as the days started nearing to the results i was a bit tensed. Before comming for the interview Amrita University to me was just like any other university, but after seeing the fantastic campus i wanted to join here.Meanwhile i got in TANCET (PSG)and NICET(NIT) but i was longing to be part of the great Amrita University. It was the day results are going to be announced,i got calls from my friends saying that they got a letter from Amrita saying that they are selected.I was thinking was i overconfident??...or did i sound overconfident??..ha ha...thousands of things were going through my mind at that time, but all that confusion had a happy ending,i got a mail from Amrita by 2pm saying that i have been selected.

First Day In Amrita

I was going to stay in a hostel for the first time in my life.We were given single rooms there.I came to report in hostel 3 days prior to the date of induction.I met few of my classmates that day there. After sending off my parents,we all gathered in a room and started introducing ourselves. After a quick chat for about half an hour out topic of discussion changed to 'Ragging'.We expected tat,but being a strict college we tought our seniors will be careful...little did we know on what to expect here in the cmg days ;) First day was great as the staff members motivated us and told us about the new evaluation system (CGPA) which was new for most of us.

Early Days Early Pains

It was to our shock when one of our seniors asked all of us to come to his room by 11:30pm one day.We knew what to expect. But there was nothing like serious ragging here, just some mischiefs, believe me we had a good time then...funny right..isnt it????.But not for some of our classmates. You need to be mentally strong here,if u are not..den dnt wrry they will change u ;) hi hi.Then suddenly from nowhere someone from our batch complained to the VC about the ragging...its consequences were long lasting. It hurted our relationship with seniors. But as we say 'Time is a healer',Things changed , we became gr8 friends, our dearest seniors were there for everything.

Internals,Sem Exams,Labs And Me

Exams were tough in Amrita as i was a casual student. One need to understand what you learn here.Mugging up wont help here even 1%.It seemed to be very diificult in the begining, but nw am feeling tat these challenges brought the best out of me.Now we completed the half centrury of exams here in amrita... no more exams... no more labs we are in the final semester.Labs were gr8 with intranet messangers like 'SMART'...a million thanks to its developers on behalf of its faithful users in Amrita.

Celebrations,Treats,Functions

Fucntions in our gr8 Amritheswari Hall,Gokulastami Celebration(..a treat to watch),B'Day treats, small fights..all are just wonderful. It may tke more than a thousand lines to describe those.

'Planet Ettimadai' - sad to bid adieu to u :(

Meanwhile i got in Cognizant through campus placements(874 students placed in top 7 companies in 1st week),our final days in Amrita is fast approaching.Amrita is going to miss this MCA 2010 batch,we are are going to miss you to.Goodbye's are part of life,it well said 'golden days are hard to come bye',but memories are going to be there for ever.Few more days in amrita...2nd review is fast approaching its sheduled on march 22..let me enjoy these final days in Amrita
